Edward Champion
is a Brooklyn writer with a receding hairline who sometimes answers to the name Alfredo Garcia. His work has appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Sun-Times, The Philly Inquirer, Newsday, as well as more disreputable publications. He is a member of the National Book Critics Circle, a podcaster of questionable repute, a playwright and director (Wrestling an Alligator, the San Francisco Fringe Festival) and a fiction writer (novel in progress, working title: Humanity Unlimited). He has decided not to employ the Oxford comma for this bio and apologizes to adamant grammarians. He can also cook up a pretty good breakfast, but he cannot make a decent omelette base to save his life. He also feels very silly writing bios about his fey accomplishments. See also: www.edrants.com

Alexis Pike
writes: “I received my BFA degree from Boise State University and my MFA degree from the University of Iowa. For the past ten years I have lived in Portland Oregon where I wear several hats as an artist, college instructor, race horse trainer, and parent; an eclectic juggling act. Recently my work was featured on the front cover of Rivet magazine for their fake issue, and a portfolio of my images will be reproduced in the Fall 2007 edition of Exposures magazine. In 2006, I was invited to speak about my personal work at Blue Sky Gallery. The usual specs go here…my work is in both public and private collections, received awards, and have been shown on both coasts and what some might call the ‘middle of nowhere’. My most recent body of work, Human Nature, is influenced by the dichotomy of the two regions of Idaho where I was raised: the scenic basin of the Sawtooth Mountain range and the small community of Idaho Falls. The work explores how communities stake a territorial claim on the landscape many would call extraordinary and place it within the conventional geography of the community that is ordinary. It is the mythology of the West.” Please visit www.alexispike.com.
